Smooth, Hot Pressed Latin Caribbean Sandwiches

In creating our line of Walkable Deli Sandwiches we were inspired by the Parisian culture and habit of eating sandwiches on the go with one hand.

Walkables sandwiches are made by horizontally scooping out the bread from the interior of one of our Puerto Rican Pan de Agua baguettes, then coating the interior of the hollowed-out baguette with a sauce using a long spatula (think butter for a Jambon Buerre – The iconic and much loved Parisian/ French Ham and Butter Baguette Sandwich or perhaphs vegan horseradish sauce for our roast beef and cheddar sandwich or then again maybe Dijon mustard for a turkey and provolone cheese sandwich).

We then roll up the charcuterie/cheese set and slide this set horizontally into the hollowed-out baguette. The sandwich can then be reheated in the oven to bring together the internal ingredients, or it can be eaten cold, as is.

The bread/sandwich is just the right size to fit in the palm of the average hand and allows you to take bites of the sandwich while walking to the subway station or standing at the bus stop – the contents of the sandwich remaining safely in place inside the sandwich baguette. Your other hand remains completely free for other task such as holding/talking on your cell phone, inputting data on your laptop PC or simply holding on to the hand rail going down a flight of stairs.
